2015 MS70 ANACS DCAM Silver Australian Koala (#10-2015-IA001)

The 2015 Silver Koala features a new design depicting this endearing animal in full relief. This year’s design features a koala peering out across the vast grassy plains of the Australian Outback from the safety of his perch in a eucalyptus tree.

First introduced by the Perth Mint in 2007, the Silver Koala has become a collector’s favorite the world over. Minted in one troy ounce of .999 Fine Silver and graded MS70 by ANACS, the 2015 Australian Silver Koala is minted in a stunning ‘reverse-proof’ finish, the opposite of US proof coins. The background of the coin is frosted while the images themselves are rendered in a dazzling mirror- like finish, allowing them to catch the light beautifully.

The obverse, which remains constant, portrays the crowned profile of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II of England. Surrounding Ian Rank- Broadley’s iconic image of the Queen are the inscriptions 'Elizabeth II,' 'Australia,' and the coin’s '1 Dollar' denomination.

These highly sought-after coins are part of an extremely limited mintage from the prestigious Perth Mint and are sure to become an excellent addition to your collection.
